Come to the Nelson Tasman area for some serious mountain biking fun!
The Wairoa Gorge Mountain Bike Park together with The Pear Orchard Lodge have put together a 2 night package for 2 adults that includes a whole day of shredding the gorge’s epic downhill tracks.
The Gorge has 70km of trails graded from intermediate to extreme (grades 3–6), with uphill shuttles running at the weekends. There are five shuttle runs each day, taking you all the way to the top from where you can enjoy 1000 metres of exhilarating descent on various trails linking seamlessly for a continuous singletrack experience.
Mostly hand-built, the tracks thread across thickly forested hills of native beech and pine, with lots of rocks, roots and natural features to add excitement and challenge. The scenery is spectacular, with various lookout points to pause and soak up the views.
Why not add another day to explore the region? Either try one of the many other mountain bike parks in our area (e.g. Silvan and Kingsland Forest), take a day to relax at the beach or check out the markets. Look here for some inspiration.

- 2 nights accommodation for 2 adults in Ensuite Room with balcony (room-only, twin share either with king or twin single beds)
- Guest kitchen, dining area and BBQ facilities for self-catering
- Under cover bike storage
- 2 adult day passes for scheduled shuttle at The Gorge (Start at 8am. 5 runs 3 before lunch and 2 after, with nearly 1,000m descent in each run!!! About 40- 50 min each run. Lunch break is at Irvine’s hut with great views and hot water.)
